To develop the Quality Enhancement Plan, the following timeline was established.

  • QEP Task Force expands, as necessary, to develop plan
  • QEP Co-Chair transition meeting and planning
  • QEP Co-Chairs attend SACSCOC Summer Institute

Fall 2018

  • Preparation and presentation of QEP for SACSCOC VP, Dr. Baird’s, Site Visit
  • Identify existing undergraduate research experiences on campus
  • Review existing undergraduate research centers at other universities
  • Refine student learning outcomes
  • Identify actions to be implemented
  • Develop assessment plan
  • Identify the external consultant/s

Spring 2019

  • Gain insight from external consultant/s
  • QEP Task Force establishes subcommittee(s) as necessary
  • Outline QEP Document

Summer 2019

  • Review and edit chapter on selection and justification of theme (Chapter II: Institutional Process)
  • Draft outcomes and activities (Chapter III: Focus)
  • Draft literature review and best practices to support focus (Chapter III: Focus)
  • QEP Co-Chairs attend SACSCOC Summer Institute

Fall 2019

  • Finalize chapter on selection and justification of theme (Chapter II: Institutional Process)
  • Finalize outcomes, activities, and best practices (Chapter III: Focus)
  • Describe constituent involvement in development and implementation (Chapter V: Broad-based Involvement)

Spring 2020

  • Finalize constituent involvement in development and implementation (Chapter V: Broad-based Involvement)
  • Establish and finalize feasible timeline for implementation and organize for success including personnel and organizational structure, budget, space, and facilities (Chapter IV: Capability)
  • Finalize assessment plan (Chapter VI: Assessment)
  • Finalize QEP Narrative
  • Draft executive summary (Chapter I: Executive Summary)
  • Prepare and finalize two-page summary for Compliance Certification Report

Summer 2020

  • Finalize QEP document for review
  • QEP Co-Chairs attend SACSCOC Summer Institute

Fall 2020

  • Submit QEP document for Presidential review
  • Nominate individuals to serve on On-Site Review Committee
  • Vet and prepare production versions of QEP
  • Prepare print and electronic copies of QEP

Spring 2021

  • Submit QEP for review four to six weeks prior to scheduled on-site visit
  • Market QEP to campus constituents
  • Prepare for On-Site Review
  • On-Site Review

Summer 2021

  • Draft and vet follow-up report for QEP, if necessary

Fall 2021

  • Submit follow-up report for QEP, if necessary
  • Receive results of review

Spring 2022

  • Implement QEP

Spring 2023

  • Collect and analyze data from first year of implementation

Spring 2027

  • Submit Impact Report

Meet the Teams

Broad-based participation was essential in developing the Quality Enhancement Plan. Two teams were formed to conduct the work of preparing the QEP.
